Steam Museum Lighting Design Consultancy

London's Kempton Steam Museum is home to the world's largest operational triple-expansion steam engine. Standing alongside its identical twin, which is taller than four stacked double-decker buses, this engine pumped large volumes of London's drinking water from 1929 to 1980. We have been enlisted by the Trust to enhance the lighting, visitor experience, and overall appearance of the museum. Our team will work closely with the Trust to achieve these objectives and provide visitors with an unforgettable experience.

Exhibition Booth Design
SMA was chosen to design the TEFAF show booth for Omer Trioche Gallery, one of London's top contemporary art galleries in Mayfair. The gallery desired something distinct from the conventional exhibition booths seen during every Art Fair. We enjoy taking on new challenges, so we collaborated to create something unique in a limited area. Images of this intriguing design will be available soon.

We are delighted to provide assistance to another Dubai & Saudi based company to establish it's self in London’s prestigious Knightsbridge location. Their offices will be less than 1 minute walk from Harrods department store. Our team has already found the perfect location but now the task is to design the luxurious offices and marketing suite interiors. These newly designed premises will invite Middle East clients to enjoy this unique luxury buying experience for both UK and Dubai property investments.

Staging & Dressing Luxury Show Apartment

SMA design studios have completed the staging & dressing of the showcase apartment on the new DAMAC Tower. This apartment has amazing views of the river Thames from the 32nd floor of this 50 storey residential luxury development.
Everything in the apartment is by the Versace Homes brand which seamlessly combines with DAMAC’s reputation of deliver luxury living and life style.

Exhibition Light Focusing for Korean Cultural Centre

Unusually for the "Love Your Depot" art exhibition each of the galleries used various modular stackable steel structures and high quality LED light battens to replicate visually a typical storage depot appearance.

Museum Design for Barnet 1471 Battlefield Museum
Our museum designers have been assisting Barnet 1471 Battlefield Society with the development of their proposed new museum in Dancers Hill, Barnet. The Battle of Barnet was the decisive engagement of the War of the Roses.
Our works include designing the themed layouts for each of its three floors and its 20 individual rooms. On the ground and first floor will detail the story behind the battle and the main protagonists the Earl of Warwick and Edward IV. Whilst on the lower ground provides the history of the house.
The museum design includes both a low and high tech approach to bring the battle to life, including VR and interactive game play.

Architectural Exhibition - Seoul Unfolded
This architectural exhibition has a very unusual design layout based on a grid system. This design places each element within a grid reference which is laid out across the Korean Cultural Centre galleries. The lighting of the exhibition also required a different contemporary feel including both wall wash and spot lighting. Images of the exhibition we hope to be sharing soon.

Exhibition Designers Create Rare Photographic Exhibition for New York City
SMA exhibition designers had just completed an exhibition design for this year’s AIPad Photographic Fair in New York.
This was the 3rd exhibition we had designed for this New York collector of early rare books, manuscripts and photographs. On display and for sale would have been some of the finest early photography of President Abraham Lincoln and other famous historical characters.

The Negotiating Borders Art Exhibition
The Negotiating Borders art exhibition is based on the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in South Korea and its border area with North Korea. Since its establishment in 1953, the DMZ has been one of the world's most heavily militarised areas.
This was the tenth exhibition at the Korean Cultural Centre that SMA design has assisted with including; exhibition layout, light installation and focusing of light fittings.

The exhibition based on munbangsau – the four essential literary tools used by Confucian scholars (seonbi) during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897 AD). The exhibition reflects upon the spirit of the seonbi tradition in Korea.

Exhibition Object Mounts - Bristol Museums & Galleries
